The first Silk Cities International Competition on ‘Community's Cultural Life in Public Spaces’ aimed to explore the cultural exchanges transpiring in urban public spaces across the globe through the medium of photography, and to reach out to a broader audience including practitioners, artists and cultural creatives. Starting in 2022, the competition was initiated as an experiment to visually explore urban matters from the perspective of a broader community interested in subject matter, beyond academic language.
