TERMS AND CONDITIONS (T&C)
- At all times, the participants, invited training partners and Silk Cities remain the owners of the intellectual property of their own research and presentations. No parts of any workshop may be recorded, reproduced, or used in any form without written permission from the copyright holder and Silk Cities.
- By registering to any of the training packages the participant warrants that they will uphold ethical and moral principles.The participant certifies and warrants that they will treat all research and information provided (including but not limited to other participants, invited training partners and Silk Cities colleagues) during and after the workshop with confidentiality and respect. The participant warrants that they will not violate the rights of a third party or any copyright law. Silk Cities and training partners are not responsible for any intellectual property violations that might have resulted.
- The official language of the training programme and all communications is English. By registering to the programme, the participant confirms they have necessary working language skills to actively engage in the programme.
- Participants are expected to attend all training programmes and actively engage in discussions.
- To receive the certificate, the participant must participate in the whole set of the workshops they registered for. Partial participation does not lead to receiving a certificate.
- Certificates will be in digital form. If the participant requires a physical certificate an extra fee will be applicable for printing and posting purposes. This extra fee must be paid at the time of the request.
- Paying for registration will be through secure online payment platforms such as Stripe.
- The application fee is non-refundable.
- The application fee will be deducted from the overall registration fee.
- Each package of workshops will be run only if the minimum number of successful applications and full registrations are reached. In case that the minimum number is not met, those confirmed participants will be informed and can choose to defer to another date or be transferred to another package if they wish to. Alternatively, they will be refunded in full.
- By registering to any of the training packages the participant certifies and warrants that all information provided is true and that their presented research is owned by the participant. The participant certifies that the submission does not violate the rights of a third party or any copyright law. Silk Cities and training partners are not responsible for intellectual property violations that might have resulted through the submissions of photos or videos.
- Participation in the training programme does not constitute an endorsement or support by Silk Cities or training partners to the participant’s work. The participant shall not advertise or otherwise claim to have obtained any such endorsement or support.
- Participants who cancel their registration within 30 days or less to the starting date are not entitled to a refund. Participants who cancel their registration up to 30 days before the starting date are entitled to a refund with a 20% admin charge.
- By submitting their application to the training programme, the applicant confirm they have required technical facilities and accessibility to the online platform to actively participate in online workshops. Please note that it is participants’ responsibility to check all technicalities and accessibilities required. The participant acknowledges and accepts that Silk Cities will not be held responsible for any technical problems they encounter following their registration to the training programme. In the case they are encountering problems during workshops, Silk cities will continue the workshops as per its planning and their registration fee may not be refunded.
- These workshop packages are for training purposes only. Silk Cities will not accept any responsibility to any party for the feedback given to your research and/or writing and presentations or questions-and-answers (Q&A) discussions by our invited speakers for any purpose other than training for educational purposes, including but not limited to the giving of advice by you to any third party.
- Silk Cities might record some workshops sessions fully or partially or take photos for its internal training evaluation and/or promotional purposes. Silk Cities warrants that full session recordings and participants’ full presentations will not be shared with other participants nor with the public. By registering to any part of the training programme, the participant also agrees to grant Silk Cities free of charge the non-inclusive and irrevocable right to record sessions fully or partially and use the photos and any part of the recordings in any manner and media for its internal evaluation purposes and/or for its public promotional purposes, including without limitation, the right to store, process, distribute, copy, amend and display or translate in printed or electronic media such as printed or digital publication, websites, social media, or other related materials.
- Participants will be able to ask for receiving a recording of their own presentation only for their personal use. If they require so, they must inform us in advance in the registration process to record their presentation otherwise it will not be recorded.
- The personal information which is requested for programme application and registration is required for administrative purposes. This information will be processed electronically and in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1984.
- Participants are requested to make sure they have entered the correct information in their application and programme registration. Silk Cities will not be responsible for any error in their application and registration.
- By submitting their CV, applicants consent to our terms and conditions. Silk Cities may update or amend these Terms from time to time to comply with the English law or for operational requirements for running training programme without notice. Updates or amendments will be posted on its website.
