DPU’s Silk Cities 2019 Student Grant

 

Congratulations to the grantees selected for the DPU’s Silk Cities 2019 Student Grant!

The grant committee evaluated eligible applications and awarded grants to six students to participate in the conference.

 

Grant Call   (Closed)

The Bartlett DPU  will provide a limited number of conference grants for graduate students from low or middle income countries in order to assist them to participate in the Silk Cities International Conference 2019. The Grant will contribute to the conference registration fees, costs of flights to/from Italy and/or accommodation in L’Aquila.

  • In order for your DPU’s Student Grant application to be considered, you must submit a motivation letter and CV to Ms Elsa Taddesse at e.taddesse@ucl.ac.uk by 15th April 2019.
  • Applicants should be willing to participate in the full conference programme. Partial participation will not be considered.
  • The Grantees will be selected from those students whose abstract is accepted by the Conference Scientific Committee. Please submit your abstract separately to the conference abstract submission system here.
  • Priority will be given to students from countries which have already experienced disasters, whether as a result of natural hazards, conflicts or wars.
  • Please note that DPU’s Travel Grant will not be paid in cash; instead DPU will book flights and/or accommodation with the UCL travel agent and pay registration fees directly to the conference organisers.
  • Successful applicants will receive up to £1,000 per grant.  Grantees are responsible for arranging their own travel insurance, visa and required vaccinations as well as cover their own transport and subsistence costs within Italy.
  • Applicants will be informed of the grant outcome by the end of April 2019.
