Unlock the pathway from research to publication excellence with our 'Turn Your Research to Publication' training programmes, a comprehensive programme tailored for early and mid-career researchers and practitioners. Over five dynamic online sessions spanning 90 to 120 minutes each, members of our esteemed scientific committee will guide participants through a multifaceted journey, imparting practical skills and insider insights critical to navigating the publication landscape.

Dedicated to empowering researchers with a practical understanding of the stringent standards of publication reviews, these training programmes offer exclusive access to leading UK and international academic reviewers, editors, and experts from the academic publishing industry. Participants engage firsthand with these luminaries, gaining invaluable knowledge on author expectations, adaptation of research to publication formats, structural nuances, standards adherence, and the art of circumventing common pitfalls.

Interactive group discussions form an integral part of each session, providing ample opportunities for participants to delve deeper, seek clarifications, and actively engage with the content. Prior to the programme's commencement, participants have the opportunity to steer the discussion by submitting key questions and topic areas, ensuring that training programmes directly address their queries and concerns.

The curriculum comprises a minimum of 4-5 interactive workshops and encourages participants to invest 15 hours in guided reading on pertinent topics related to research publication. A meticulously curated reading list primes participants with essential literature, enabling a more profound engagement during the training programmes.

The training programmes are thoughtfully structured to cover diverse dimensions of research publication. Sessions such as 'Drafting a Research Publication, Types, Principles, and Common Mistakes' and 'Publish in Urban & the Built Environment Studies' feature renowned researchers and academics sharing their expertise in crafting high-quality research papers, understanding editorial processes, and navigating high-impact publication avenues.

An essential training , 'What Are Scientific Reviewers & Publishers Looking For?' invites distinguished academics and professional editors to shed light on the review process for academic journals, books, and conference proceedings, offering key insights and practical know-how essential for publication success.

Prior to the programme's initiation, participants gain access to self-study resources on research publication, setting the stage for a more enriched and informed learning experience throughout the training programme series. CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION

Upon successful completion of the programme, the participant will receive a certificate from Silk Cities.

REGISTRATION

  • Fee

The fee for the training Package 1 is 350 GBP, which can be paid in two instalments. The first instalment is due upon registration, and the second instalment can be paid at the latest by the first day of the training programme.

  • Early Bird

Register before 30 April and take advantage of our special Early Bird rate of 300 GBP.

  • Application Fee

An application fee of 25 GBP, set at a nominal amount, is applicable to ensure the commitment of serious prospective participants. This fee will be deducted from the overall registration fee upon enrolment.

  • Eligibility

This programme is open to students and graduates in architecture, urban studies, heritage, urban planning, disaster management and related disciplines. A Good working English skill is required.

  • Registration requirements

To enroll in the training programme, please submit your CV along with a summary of a work, abstract of a paper, article, or ongoing research study you're working on.

A partial waiver is available for two motivated students from developing countries seeking to participate in this programme. Submit your CV, a motivation letter, and your research work by 30 April for consideration.
