Cities, Heritage and Transformation
Building on several collaboration with Springer on publishing our peer-reviewed books, Silk Cities has established a new Springer book series on Cities, Heritage and Transformation. The series is inherently interdisciplinary and aims to create a peer-reviewed knowledge hub, presenting advances and case studies and connecting academia to practice.
It publishes on relationships between the built environment, urban transformation and communities’ cultural heritage, whether to be tangible or intangible, overarched by the notion of resilience and sustainable development. Special attention is given on real-life under-explored topics. Challenging existing assumptions and disciplinary divides, the series takes an interdisciplinary position and brings together innovative research from different areas from geography to social sciences, and humanities to name a few.
The series benefits from the growing Silk Cities’ network’s research and empirical knowledge. It provides another scientific book publication platform for disseminating collective knowledge generated though collaborative activities Silk Cities undertake as part of its intellectual leadership on related subject matters. Book authors and editors will benefit from additional guidance if needed.
You can download the book proposal form from the book series page at the publisher’s website here. For sharing your idea and having an informal discussion contact us.
Testimony
I dreamed of this moment to see my Ph.D. issued by a prestigious publisher like Springer. When the race to finish writing my book ended, I was proud, relieved, and thrilled just as I got a second Ph.D., thanks to the sharp critiques, observations, and guidance from Prof. Farnaz Arefian, with who I worked in tandem to get the book within one year. An experience that I would repeat, and I encourage every researcher to get a similar experience.
